Emily Sampey

  Emily began her PhD in 2021 at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Andrew Leach, Sam Butterworth and Lydia Tabernero. The research involves the design and synthesis of potential phosphatase inhibitor compounds using a combination of computational, synthetic and bio- chemistry. She is particularly interested in medicinal chemistry and drug design, having completed her integrated Master’s degree in chemistry (with medicinal chemistry, with placement year at GSK) at Newcastle University in 2021, studying under Celine Cano for her Master’s project.
